About

Founded in 2018 by Elliot Lancaster to solve the Capital’s crisis of over congested roads and pollution by going back to the past to change the future.

Where logistically possible we use our alternative method to transport our clients commercial waste via London’s Canal and River network and thereby divert traffic off London’s roads, reducing air pollution and decreasing our client’s carbon footprint in the Capital.

The waterways offer a huge opportunity for our clients to not only remove waste but to also bring in office supplies & equipment and we are proud to upartner with Powerday; the market-leading waste management and recycling facility, who ensure that all of our clients manage their resources sustainably, maximise recycling and recovery of material, delivering 100% diversion from landfill.

Our aim by the end of December 2021 is to provide logistics to ensure up to 80% of our client waste is being moved by barge and benefitting from our Waste by Water services

Initiatives

Our services are designed to think outside of the conventional box, disrupt the normal methods and above all, provide a bespoke solution enabling companies to rethink their current waste strategy and implement a more sustainable approach.

Waste by Water

Waste by Water

For our clients who are fortunate to be located near waterways, we collect their waste by barge and transport it direct to Powerday.

By utilising the Canal and River network, we can now move waste out of London using barges and tugs, providing a more efficient form of transportation and saving tonnes of c02 every month.

Road and Water

Road and Water

Our Road & Water service, ensures that clients whose premises are not located adjacent to the waterways can access our specialised services.

We provide caged vehicles, to collect waste from inland operations and where possible, we are able to transport it back to our barges or directly by road to a sustainable recycling facility.  Our aim is to mitigate road travel & reduce carbon footprint wherever we can and further spread our net to a wider audience

Bulky Waste Removal

Bulky Waste Removal

We provide a full end to end service for offices, residential landlords, estates and educational establishments.

iRecycle moves 70% of its waste out of London in bulk on our barges using London’s canal network, preventing tonnes of Co2 into the atmosphere and diverting traffic off London’s congested roads.

Green Waste

Green Waste

As an extension to R&W service we are now able to provide a Green Waste collection service, this service is only by road but we are delighted to be able to partner with West London Composting.

Their facility can process 50,000 tonnes of organic waste each year, enabling them to manufacture a variety of high-quality soil conditioners for agricultural and commercial uses and provide our clients with a very circular & eco-friendly solution for their green waste.

Circular Economy

Circular Economy

Embracing the Circular Economy, our barges currently return to Central London empty. To ensure we are maximising on our movements and our clients’ needs, we have partnered with Anglo FM. We are now able to take, confidential shredded waste out of London on our barges to Anglo FM, who in turn recycle it into high quality stationary. We subsequently return these goods via our barges into Central London, closing the loop. This service is also a more cost-efficient way of stocking your offices & reducing overheads.

Canal Clean Up

And whilst our team are busy transporting waste via barge they also clean up the canal by removing all rubbish in reach, starting at Camden Lock, going through Little Venice and ending up at Powerday in Willesden.

Ending Homelessness

iRecycle has supported ending homelessness from its inception. Our ideology is to benefit the environment from within the company, as well as outside through the specialist services we provide to our clients.

We are enormously proud to enable homeless candidates back into work, providing employment, stability and support to them as they return to independent living. Check out our interview below with Marion, our first full-time employee and is also one of our R&W Drivers.
